Default 2004 A4 1.8T CVT - Problems with Gas pedal losing powerBottom of Page

Has anybody else had this problem with a 2004 A4 1.8T CVT (see below), I've taken the car to Richmond Audi, but they can't find anything wrong with it. The problem occurs very randomly, does not happen all the time.

The Problem:

After stopping the vehicle at a stop sign or red light, you take your foot off of the brake and apply it to the gas pedal. But the car does not move because there is no power when you press down on the gas pedal and the RPM do not rev. The car also starts moving backwards when in Drive, as you’re trying to press the gas pedal. After about 5 seconds, power is restored to the gas pedal.

Any ideas anybody??[/align]

Just a shot in the dark but it almost sounds like the switch in the pedal for the DBW system is intermittantly malfunctioning. If it was acutally giving a signal the engine should rev but since it is not it would have to be in the DBW system or a computer malfuntion but that would be unlikelybecause it would most likely do itevery time you take offand traffic would be backed up half way around the world. I would say it is the switch.
