Default Rear break pad replacement ... pistons won't retract

I'm trying to replace my rear break pads and pistons won't retract. Do you just push it? it just doesnt budge. I'm using one of those screwpress still no budge

Audi A4 2000 2wd.

UPDATED: looks like its one of those tscrew piston. I turned it clocksiwe and it expanded, trying counter clockwise and it doesnt seem to do anything

Clockwise screws it back into the caliper. You need to use a tool with a compression pad on it to push against the piston while you turn it or you'll never get it threaded. Even using the proper tool, it can still be a workout.

The brake tool required can be rented from any autozone. Twist in calipers tell the guy at the counter and he should accommodate you.

Hopefully your parts store rents a better one than ours. The local stores here have the ones that are universal but don't have the push-pad to put force on the piston while you twist. On top of that, the pegs don't fit quite right in their universal set. The proper brake tool ended up being added to the collection because of this.

I just did that too. I used a C-clamp to put some pressure on it then turned it. After a squeeze I was able to get it to thread. It was frustrating but be gentle and patient and you'll win.
