2005 A4's clutch feeling "bumpy"
Hi there, I recently bought a used manual 2005 A4 Quattro.
When I first bought it, compressing the clutch pedal felt smooth and normal. On day three of owning the car, I took third gear a little hard and smelled something burning.
Now, when I compress the clutch pedal while moving, the first 1/4 of the press feels really bumpy and rough while changing gears. Even if I'm just rolling along at a constant speed and gently press in the clutch pedal, I feel the bumpiness.
Possibly related, when I'm slowing down and press down the clutch, trying to shift into first gear when going > around 10mph is met with some resistance and a kind of weird noise. Maybe that's unrelated.
The problems don't seem to be getting worse, and I guess I can live with them if fixing it means spending an insane amount of money. But is this a progressive problem that will cause more damage if not addressed?
