Default 2010 Audi A4 2.0T Catastrophic Engine Failure

Hi -

My 2010 A4 2.0T was towed to the Audi dealership this week. Service told me the engine has catastrophic failure. Basically, the timing belt ( Tensioner ) when out with only 91,000 miles.... I believe the warrantee calls for a change at 105,000 miles.

To replace the engine, it will cost upwards of $12K. This car has been a lemon. In 2013, the pistons and rings were replaced due to excessive oil consumption. I know there was class action lawsuit on this and Audi pulled the engine and fixed with issue on their dime.

In 2014, the air system went out. $1K to fix that. Many switches have also failed during ownership of the car.

Looking at many email threads, this seems to be quite common and many Audi cars have failed under the mileage maintenance change of 105,000 Audi specifies.

Is there any recourse against Audi here? Could they have botched the timing when they replaced the rings and pistons?

Audi did not botch the timing they just did not go ahead and put $200 worth of new parts on the engine like they should have while they were in there. The stupidity of some Stealerships boggles the mind. It is not limited to Audi. ALL of them are like that.

Roll the sumbitch off a big damned hill.....
