3 liter cam position sensors

Looking for support. I have an '04 A4 Quattro, Cabrio with a 3.0 liter. 148K, running well, until I lost the AC compressor clutch. Well, I had no choice, so I ran a few days with no power steering, or alternator; charging my new(er) battery up before I would to go to work, and then while at work, to get back home, The compressor arrived, and I installed it, and a new serpentine belt, all is good, except during one of those 3 days, my car started running with zero power. I actually had to use Tiptronic, and shift at ~4500 RPM to get speed out of her.

Well, my OBD-Eleven said she needed two cam position sensors. So I ordered those, while she sat. I put them in, cleared the codes, she ran good for a minute, then the codes came back, as did the poor performance. She is charging well, and all other systems are good. But I can't really use a vehicle in this condition. It seems I'm always a few days away from finishing my summer daily driver, a '74 VW Thing, which I have completely mechanically restored, and is in decent physical shape (full cosmetic restoration planned winter of 2019). My '04 A4 cabrio is my winter car, & summer mediocre weather or gotta have AC car. Again, looking for any possible solution that would cause this. Thanks.
