Happy New Year fellow audi owners!
I have been having problems starting "old blue" now that it is colder and wetter outside - she is an 87 4000 5 speed with a "billion miles" on her - when she starts she runs like a charm, its the starting that is the challenge. My guess is that the compression is lower when it gets cold (below 35 degrees or so), it turns no problem but won't fire - I will try new wires and plugs, and have a recent new coil - I also smell gas after a couple of cranks.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a professionally reconditioned engine? I love this car and don't want to let her go - just put in new clutch and pressure plate and she should be good for another 50K.
Any help or ideas is appreciated
Thanks
