well, i recently did a tune up on my car and now i've got a pretty rough idle and my gas mileage is horrible. I went out before to pull any codes that it had and got 2142, which is a knock sensor problem.

Open or short circuit, Defective sensor
Check sensor and wiring
Symptom: Timing retarded, High fuel consumption, power loss, Boost pressure not attained
can anyone recommend a course of action for this before i end up having to come up with the money for a new knock sensor?

knock sensor is loose or faces are corroded which would impair its reading, a knock sensor is like a timing tool for the engine just like the cam sensor but lower down to crank/mid range and adjusts the timing if there is the need . check the sensor isn't loose and wiring is good
