Just picked up this car for my son it will be his first car. The seller had to jump start it, and we drove it home, charged the battery. Battery was about 13.5 V after an hour of charging, start it up and the battery is now at 12.5 V with the car running and steadily dropping voltage.

Sounds like a alternator or regulator problem, possibly wiring.

Like the seller said, it has a new starter, timing belt, and water pump. At least they look new compared to the rest of the engine.

Could they have screwed something up during replacement of these parts? I notice the starter is right behind the alternator. Any way to take the plastic cover off the back to check the wiring?

Well, thanks for all of you support in helping me fix this problem, I could not have done it with out you.

Any ways, it needed a new alternator, and went in a lot easier then it looked.

Maybe some day I might get a reply?

And if I don't BFD!
