So the other day i pulled out of my drive way and put the car into drive. started hearing some clanking noise so i put the car into neutral, and the noise stopped.. put it back into drive, and the noise started up again. same with any of the drive gears and reverse. but when its in park or neutral, it runs just fine. pushed it into my drive way, and when the car is in park, its still rolled down my driveway.. any one have an idea of whats going on? i live pretty far out of the city, and it would be costly for me to tow it into town to get checked up. I just dont want to have to pay for a tow into town to find out that the repairs gonna cost more than the car is worth. its a 96 A4 with the 2.8 145k. any help is appreciated. thanks.
