96 auaudi a4 2.8l head gasket maybe

I just got this 1996 audi a4 two days ago the 1st night I drove it home it over flowed coolant out of the jug and so I toped it off and drove it about 30 miles and used a little coolant figured because the thermostat was closed when I topped it off so on the way back another 30 miles I seen smoke coming out the back looked white but it went away and I have seen it again been driving about 20 miles after this and seems to be fine checked all the pluplugs they were dry doesn't look like it used any coolant but the temp gauge stays at half way nevery over that so I wanted to get some opinions and see what the right direction to go is I am new to audi I have had mostly Hondas but I am pretty inclined have rebuilt a few Hondas but head gaskets all throw me so I am gonna a keep a eye on the coplant level and see what happens

No longer losing coolant but the heater core did blow steam and water out this morning also heat never worked but both line were warm coming from the heater core were warm so now my question is at idle for 10-15 mins it will blow out whiteish blue smoke smells just like oil no strange smells so I am not sure about this car I figured it had it problems but I am still not getting oil in the coolant nore coolant in the oil so I am at a loss with where I should go from here other than putting in a heater core but I really don't want to do that until I figure out the motor issue I am thinking maybe valove stem seals but I need so advise on thsee issues also my check engine light doesn't light up at all changed bulbs and still nothing I don't the tool to check this as the ports are differnt then a standard obd2 unless I am just not holding my mouth right any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.
