just bought a 98 a6 quattro. car runs really good and this is my first one. so my question is shifting from 1st to 2nd seems perfect 2nd to 3rd seems just as good but 3rd to 4th seems to shift at like 3000-3200 rpms. no loud noises or grinding or clunking or hard shifting. does that seem ok? and sometimes when just cruising when it reaches 3rd or 4th going maybe 35 or 40 it seems like the rpms hang at 3000 for a little bit until i push the gas down a little harder. this seems more common when its cold. please someone help, ive been digging up forums for days now and what i keep finding is TBC adjustment by pushing the pedal down and so forth. and unplugging the battery to reset the tcm. the only transmission code i got was a kickdown switch ground intermittent. please help because im going crazy over the whole thing when there might not even be anything wrong with it. thanks in advance.

 

should mention its a 2.8. no i havent checked the tranny fluid because im worried some will leak out and than im stuck going to by some and figuring out this whole filling process.
