98 Audi A4 Quattro 2.8L Electrical Issue
I have a weird electrical issue that I am having a hard time tracing down. First off, the outside air temp display will work normally for a bit, then drift down to -49 (assuming default or ground), the oil temp reading is pegged greater than 250 (ground reading is 2 ohms on the wire), and the windshield wiper motor quit working. All of this happened at the same time. Trying to find a common problem is proving to be a pain. It appears by the repair manual that all of these feed through the instrument control module, but I can't find its location anywhere in the book or manual. Is it the instrument cluster it's referring to? It looks like the lines go through the firewall to the module directly in front of the driver though? I took the wiper motor off and all of its readings looked good. Any ideas on what the issue could be? I find it hard to believe that 3 items failed almost simultaneously, that is why I am looking for common problems.
Another issue, not sure if it's related or not though. The heater won't blow hot air? I know the auto climate control in this thing is tricky, but could it be related as well?
