99 Audi A4 starter issues
Ok here's what happened...
I went to open my passenger door to get something and my alarm started going off. I had not even set my alarm either. I then proceeded to get in and turn the ignition on and then off which turned off the alarm, then I turned it on and the alarm started again. I was not able to turn it off with the key because it was in the ignition and I had to keep it there because my ignition had broke and I've been starting my car with a screw driver, so the key was there to keep my steering wheel and park lock from locking until I could replace the ignition. Anyways, I then proceeded to pop the hood and disconnect the negative cable from the battery and then reconnect it. The alarm was then off and when I tried to start it everything lit up but it would not start. I assumed my starter was locked up, which had happened a couple times before. Is it possible that my security system disabled it? If so, is there a way to bypass this? Such as wiring the solenoid to the battery or what? I know this sounds crazy but this car has done some weird things before. I appreciate any info that can be given, my car is now stranded an hour and a half away from me and I don't want to get it towed if I can resolve the issue from where it is. |
