A1 engine clatter
Hello
Over the past few months my 2014 A1 1.4TFSI 122PS/90kw engine has been making a clattering/tappet noise specifically as I drive uphill (low gradients) at low revs and/or from 1,500rpm - 2000rpm range on level ground. It started out faint but now the noise has become progressively louder. It is winter time now but I dont believe that cold air can do this because the noise is still produced even though the engine light indicates the engine is warm. I filled it with 5W-40 about 2 months ago if that helps. I took it to the dealership to run a diagnostics on the car last month but according to them there is nothing wrong, still under warranty for a few years.
Its a different noise to the camshaft timing issue that is common with this engine

Almost sounds like an oil pickup issue. You aren't getting any low oil pressure warnings are you. Also make sure you don't overfill it either. Too much oil can be as bad as not enough with the crank slapping it as it sloshes up to depths that it shouldn't be at.
