Hi guys. I've been nursing this problem for over a year but now my 1.6 sport, petrol not driveable
It started when idling, the reves wouldn't keep steady, over revving and dropping almost off, progressed to dropping so low it stalled. Now it's extremely jerky and cutting out even when driving. All this doesn't happen until the engine GETS WARM.
My mechanic has: fitted new MAF, new plugs, Lambda sensor ( put old one back on as it made no difference!)checked the pipes and has now washed his hands of it.
Fault codes vary, even bringing up 510- MAF. Other codes showing: 0537 O2 sensor, 0513 engine speed sensor, 0523 air intake sensor, 0525 (g39) O2 sensor.

It stems odd that he can't isolate a fault when the engine performs well for the first 3 to 5 miles.?

I don't want to throw money at it as its not worth much anyway and the last year has been a "lets try this, nope, gimme £50" scenarios.

Anyone got any suggestions for this frustratedly dumbfounded woman? Please

Update on my Audi. Had third opinion after changing the MAF to no significant improvement. Codes indicated the MAF AGAIN and also the lambda sensors (didn't know there were two). Garage also found out that there was blue smoke coming from exhaust which they said is really bad and would be too expensive to repair.
