First post in one of these forums and really need some help!

My a3 2.0 fsi 2004 plate will not start. Basically as I turn the key to ignition nothing happens, the battery is fine, the dash board lights come on as usual but as I go to start there is literally nothing, I can bump start the car. There are no fault codes stored so I really don't know what to do.

If you can, have your battery, alternator and starter tested.

It sounds like your battery has enough power to run the accessories but not enough to crank the motor.

 

I have the same problem with a 1.6 a3
Have dash light but when turn key nothing.
If I jump start its ok
Alternator is charging when it's running so is ok
I have 12.4 volts with key off but when I turn key to position 2 I get 9v then crank and 0v????
Sounds like a bad cell in the battary to me just wondering if you got yours sorted????
