A3 2010 Steering buzz when warm and going straight forward
Hi!
This is my first post and as I found many god tips here in the past, I thought I should try to post a problem that I've never found an answer.
I have an Audi A3 2010. When I'm driving the car for at least 5 min and it's warm outside, there is a buzzing sound in the steering wheel. It sounds like an electrical sound.
This happen only when going straightforward. When I'm turning the wheel, the buzz stops and when I bring it back to the standard position, it continues.
It's like a constant buzz but when there are small bumps, it seems the buzz go louder. It usually does it on the highway first but when it starts it will do it in the city. When the car is at a complete stop, the buzz stop. THe car need to be moving.
It really come from the back of the steering. I live in the northern region and it doesn't do it in the winter but when temperature goes up to 60 degrees, it starts. Makes me think it's electrical maybe?
The dealer doesn't seem to know what it is right now. They need to keep the car but as they took almost 4 weeks to balance my tires properly I would prefer to get advices from you guys before going there again. At this point I don't mind to pay even under warranty as this is a deal breaker for me. Can't imagine going on road trip with that buzzing noise.
Thanks in advance for the help as I'm really desesperate to get rid of that problem!! If I can repair it myself I will!
