Default A4 1.8t driver window issues...

I was on lunch for work, and I went out and grabbed a bite. When I got in the car, I cracked the window. It sounded tight when it rolled down as if the door had shrunk. (At the time, it was 12°F) I rolled it all the way down, to see if the sound persisted. When it was completely down, i tried to roll it up, and it went up about 4 inches, then automatically rolled itself back down. I haven't been able to get it higher than than a few inches since before it goes back down.

Does anyone have experience with this? The motor is working, seems it to be a issue with the guides or clips.

Thank you for your time and effort

You may have to assist it by pushing up on the glass while operating the switch. COLD weather makes things go wonky sometimes. The track may have some ice in it that is causing a bit too much resistance. I'm not sure if there is a safety feature built into the system to detect too much resistance as if something is caught in the glass (like a finger or hand) that may be tripping because of the excess resistance.
