hi guys

ill start off by saying im a noob to the audi/vw world, but not to cars in general. ok now thats out of the way....

i just purchased a 02 audi a4 (fwd,1.8t,auto) and it seems to have a issue with the trans. i will try to explain this best as i can. when i come to a complete stop it feels as if the car goes into neutral, if i let off the brake and wait for a few seconds i can feel the trans kinda slide into gear and the car starts to creep forward. now if i dont wait for it to creep into gear and just press the gas the rpm's will climb and then it violently jerks into gear. i have noticed that when the car is cold it really doesnt do it as bad and that the trans does not slip at all.

any ideas on what the problem is?

also the car is a 6 speed auto with manual shift option. is that the cvt trans?
