Anyone know the location of the casting number for an a6 2.8 clyinder head. Tryng to buy some online

 

I think it's located next to the intake ports. Usually starts with 078. This is the part number cast into the head. It will read something like: 078 103 068 AH or something similar. Your number will probably be different but this is the format you will see and you should match up the part number from your head to the "new" one you are getting.

If no disassembly has taken place and the intake and injectors are still on the head, it might be very difficult to see the numbers.
