Hello there,

I have an A8 1996, 3.7 V6. I have a big problem and i can't find the cure. My engine missfires badly. I scanned the car and it says Cylinder 6 missfire. I changed the spark plug, the ignition coil, but still nothing. The coil is ok, i tested it with the spark plug outside the head, but the engine doesn't actually feels the diference weather the coil is on the plug or not.
Can it be tha CAT? But if so, why the error code for missfire and not CAT?
Appreciate ANY help.

 

P.S. I have the CEL flashing and CAT on

 

Check the ignition cable, to make sure you have spark. The missfire can also be caused by a faulty injector. If that is also OK, check the pressure in the cylinder.
