Default Airflow/Airmass sensor problem?

Hi i have a1997 A3 1.8t sport, whils changing the gearbox i was faffing with the airflow sensor, and snapped a little prong inside it. now my car runs like crap.

So i needa new air flow sensor..

Will any audi sensor that is the same in looks do the job? or does it have to be the exact one forit?

What im saying is, on ebay there are ones for TT's that are 14 - 19GBP, and the one for mycar is 30GBP, but they look exactly the same. could i use a TT with a different product code?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Read the bosh numbers on the side, that is the only sensor you can use. It measures airflow & temp. Every sensor is calibrated for that application, so you can 't swap them around. If that TT is a 1.8t & uses the same sensor, then yes, you can use it. But if it uses a Hitachi sensor, it's a no-go.

you don't necessarily have to purchase the OEM Bosch part...I wouldn't go with just any part, but ecstuning.com sells a MAF for like $90 or something that will do the trick. The part itself actually ranges from like $80-350, so be careful what you buy!
