My 1999 A4 2.8 Quattro was "relocated" to clear a street for snow plowing. The alarm was tripped as the car was towed. The battery in my key is dead and trying to start the car only trips the alarm siren. I was told that only an Audi dealer can reset the alarm. I would like to avoid the 30 mile tow to the nearest dealer and the cost of having the dealer do this. Any suggestions?

 

I cant think of anything that needs to be reset. You may want to try setting the alarm and then disarming it with the key in the lock in the drivers door. Also try the passenger side.
