alarm is triggering itself

i recently purchased my first audi, 2003 a4 quattro, i lock the doors and the alarm starts beeping for about a min, shuts off and then starts again? anyone know about this problem?

One of the door contacts could be dirty and not making a good connection. Try cleaning them and seeing if the alarm works correctly.
