I'm combing junkyards looking for a replacement transmission for my '86 Audi 4000 S, and I've found other Audis ranging from '84-'91, but no '86s. Are any Audi transmissions interchangeable across years? (Same general question for axles and gasket in particular, and any other swappables that would be useful).

Any and all help is much appreciated.
