Anyone here own a bentley manual?
If so can you look something up for me?
From TommRitt:
"U might be able to pull the valve cover and index the cams from the tdc mark on the back of each cam,
----->otherwise cant u line up the tdc marks on both cam gears, "and the crank pulley to there propper tdc, then find in the bently the amt of teeth b/w the cam gears and continue from there?"<----------
I dont really see the issue and I'm assuming its a 2.8 which I really have no experience with"

RE: Anyone here own a bentley manual?
Bentley makes no mention of tooth count for cam-to-crank positioning via the timing belt, although it does specify 16 timing CHAIN links between the marks on the exhaust and intake cams (DOHC engines only, of course, not our 2.8L 12V).

ORIGINAL: rossm3
be carefull!!!!!!!!!! The 16 that both Bently and Audi themselves specify is a misprint! It is actually 14! $2800 later that fixed my problems.
Cheers
