I voted for GIAC because now it would be my closest tuner. I was going to get APR because they were originally my closest tuner until they recently started selling the "other" chip. The "other" chip currently installed in my car IMHO is suppose to have the best characteristics of these two chips.

I drive a 01 A6 2.7T and prefer the GIAC chip. I did alot of research and felt that the GIAC chip made more sense. Plus, I got the GIAC reader so I can switch between programs. Race, stock, pump, valet, kill.
I am glad I picked GIAC. I HAVE NOT been dissappointed. My car feels like it doubled it's power and that' not bad for around $800 - I'd recommend GIAC to anyone. What an improvement !!!

I'm still looking myself. I'v heard a lot about Giac killing turbos because of the higher boost. I think I heard GIAC boosts around 22 psi while APR boosts around 17. So that's the difference between the perceived extra umph you get from GIAC. I dunno when it comes to chips I am very turbo cautious. Untill I get KO4's or more importantly the money for KO4's I'm thinkin to stay stock. But I really don't want to if you know what I mean.
What about MTM chips? Heard they give the most torque.
