Default Atomatic jerking

Hi all,

I have an 2001 A4 2.0 with 6-speed Tiptonic, and when it's shift gears it's jerking in all gears. Have 58K in it, the trannyfluid never been changed jet, it's due at 60K, could that be the problem ?
Thanks.

My car has 144K mi. with origonal trans. fluid, and
it runs fine. Have the codes read and post them.
Did 2001 A4's have a 2 litre engine?

Thanks CRAZYHAWK,
Will take it to Audi next week to check it out. By the way nothing wrong with it in Tiptonic mode, shift smoothly.
The europian market have the 2.0 and also the 1.6.

Hi there folks

Have a 03 A6 2.4 'Multi'. Had the box replaced due to shuddering and slippinglast year. This occured only in 'manual' mode and upon pulling away. This was done for free coz the car still fell under a maintenance plan. Just as well.. It cost a staggering $10 000. Now here is the sad part... The car has gone in again as I speak, with exactly the same problem. This time around the maintenace plan has expired, but the 'new box still falls under a 1 year warranty. This is not good for Audi... very bad indeed. Anyone out there experiecing this, dont hesitate to demand a new box, especially if it is still covered by a maintenace plan. We pay a premium for these cars, and cannot sit back and accept poor quality and workmanship like this.

There is no 6 speed tiptronic, it is a multitronic (CVT). Different animal. And a bad one. Changing the fluid might help, but more likely than not the problem is more serious (sorry to break the news).

Well the thing is, it had a hughe vacuum leak, I tought that is it, but not, still doing it, but only at low RPM (1500-2000) above that it's smooth, and I was wrong when I sad it's happens when shifting, so I think it's not the tranny now, it's the engine.

I know that you only get a six speed box in a "multi), I mentionedin my first posting that I have a "multi". This box is hardly a mechanical device, but rather a box filled with electrical components. This is a desighn fault, and Audi knows that. Like I said, I have met two blokes who is sitting with the same predicament. You guys should go look in 'Recalls' on the top part of this forum's home page....This problem has been reported as far back as 02, and yet "multi's" are being sold, and still have the same inherant problems. This is unaccepctable people, this is selling vehicles, knowing that they have faulty transmissions. Who of you have a spare 10 Grand to fork put for a new tranny...def not me.We buy these vehicles because we trust the brand and depend on the after sale service

Just got back from the tranny shop, they say nothing wrong with it. No engine codes, no tranny codes, nothing at all, only that annoying jerking when you slowly accelerate, and only when it's cold. Any ideas ?

Ya I have the same here, In Minnesota it gets hella cold and my car is horrible in automatic shifting. I have to use the tip to shift it when its cold. I think thats just how audis are in cold atmospheres. After it gets warmed up a bit it shifts like a charm.

My Gearbox is being replaced as we speek, but like I said in anearlier posting, the current box was put in last year May, and has not even covered 20 000Km. All thisstill forms part of the now expired service plan. These gearboxes have a weak design, and Audi is very aware of this problem. If you still have a maintenance orservice plan, dont settle for anything less than replacement box, and insist on it. These cars and their components have been designed to handle basically everytemperature environment.. they are from Germany after all.
