Default Audi 1994 100S Heater Core

Hey, everyone. I have a major issue. My heater core is done. As everyone knows, replacing a heater core on any car is a hassle and VERY expensive. I have searched high and low on how to replace the heater core myself. I already bought the replacement heater core and I'm very desperate to fix it. I have had this car for about a month and a half and have not had the simple experience of driving it around without getting antifreeze all over my shoes and floor and ultimately having the engine over heat because of an empty coolant reservoir tank! It's a hassle.
I know it's possible to do it with patience and time. A friend and I already started to take the center console out, steering wheel, and glove compartment. We are jammed at the steering wheel. We don't know how to remove the column. We have an inkling, though, that we might be doing too much work.
Anyway, I don't want this to be too long with this. If I had the money I might have just taken it to the shop but then again it's $600-$800+ and that's ridiculous.
Does anyone know how to replace this thing for this specific model (1994 100S)?
Any help- any redirection would help me. This car is sweet ride and the summer is coming around. It'd be real nice to just sit in it and drive a little, you know Again, I have searched everywhere and I have found nothing.
Thanks a lot in advance.
