Audi 80 1990 Reving up by itself !!!HELP PLEASE!!!

Hi Guys

Desperate for some advice new to this site but seems like alot of you guys know what your on about, Ive got an Audi 80 2 ltr sport G reg, When it's cold it runs fine but once its upto running tempeture it starts to rev upto 30000 Rpm ant stays there if i touch the throttle it drops then shoots straight back up again, Then it will drop to 500 rpm and as i pump the throttle it just splutters and will not pull away then all of sudden it rites itself, its intermitant but only happens when its warmed up, Any advice would be a great help. Please dont tell me to buy a newer Audi i'd love to if i could afford it, Thanks guys.

Do you get any error codes?

Water temp sensor circuit malfunction?

check if you have leaks of fuel. check the cold start injector.
EDIT oh and if you have oxygen sensor, read the data from it with a multimeter (digital) and tell us the values (between 0.1V and 0.9V) as it revs

air leaks/vac leaks ( sounds a silly one but is the dipstick seal ok and is the stick all the way in?? ) its a pressured system in the engine and will run like you say if the seal is bad, other things to consider is the throttle body for cleaning and the idle air control valve
