audi a3 2.0 tdi sport

hi everyone. im new to the forum and wanted to ask a few questions... im looking to buy an audi a3 tdi sport 140, and just wanted to ask wot to look for when i go to view one, and if there are any common problems with them?(im looking at the 2003/2005 models). would be very grateful for some help, thanks:)

My cousin's have the same. Up front, Audi quality is evident in the elegant, user-friendly dash design. Neither competitor is as solidly put together – the A3’s cabin feels as if it will stand the test of time. But that’s not to say it’s perfect; the cup-holder is rather flimsy, while the handbrake, when pulled up, hits the underside of our model’s optional centre armrest.

just picked up a 2006 a3 (not tdi), and love it. the fit/finish interior and exterior is exceptional.

the engine makes a soft tick-tick-tick as the motor runs. everyone says this is normal, and mine sounds quieter than others.

just going thru a turbo question (see other post), not sure if you will have similar or not with the tdi.

nice form factor for the city. will be driving it a lot over the holidays, can't wait to see how it performs.
afaik, no other close competitor offers a vehicle in the same size/form factor. not sure why. wanted something under 170".

feels solid/comfy ~ it's fairly quiet (exterior noise).

not looking forward to the bumper scrapes/marks from parking in the city. but that's not audi ~ it's any newer car. plastic. meh.
