Audi brakes HELP!
Just been trying to fit some new rear pads to my 2002 A4 TDI, a straight forward enough job, but for some reason the piston inside the caplier wont wind in fully!! It wound down so far but not enough to squeeze the new pads in. I tried winding it back out to then go back in but now its stuck right out and just turning but not moving anywhere, so much so i cant fit the old worn pads back in!! WTF. Anyone out there fit these before?
Thanks in advance,
Muffster.

it sounds like your gunna have to go either rent or purchase a caliper piston compressor. because there is still fluid inside the caliper itself, so you wont be able to compress it manualy cuz of the pressure.
if this is the case you place the tool between the piston and the carrier forks and with the bleeder valve open start to compress the piston inward. once you cant compress anymore, back off alittle then start to compress some more. you will start to see more fluid come out.
repeat these steps as much as you need to, until you have the piston far enough to place the new pads on and over the rotor.
hope this helps. if not, pm me
