it can be done but the question is is the cost worth it. most of the parts will swap over since back in 96 when we had the 2.8 the 1.8 and 1.8t were already out in europe so the chassis were pretty much the same. the issue is you need a motor, chances are a new tranny because the engine wont mount to the bell housing. new ECU, harness. not to mention the labour. all in all it will cost $3000 and thats being optimistic. if you want a little tuner car, save up and swap to a S4 or 1.8t the 2.8 is for many young guys a way to get into audis.
