2005 A4 Avant USP. (B6, 1.8T, 6spd)

For some reason, our a4 thinks that the hatch is open, even though it is not.

the display on the dash shows the hatch blinking and never goes away. No matter how many times we open/close/slam it.

I'm assuming there is a sensor or a pin somewhere to tell the computer 'the door is ajar' but I cant figure out where it is.

Can someone help point me in the right direction?

I'd be happy tricking the car into thinking its closed. I dont need this sensor to work, I just need it to not blink on the screen.
