B7 engine in a B5

Okay so I have an audi a4 b5 that I blew my engine in and I got s friend that has a b7 or b6 not sure, but both are 1.8t and I was wondering if it was a straight swap? Or if its easy to do a swap my car is a quattro not sure if its fwd or awd if that matters? Both cars manual!

Thanks for answers

Swapping a 1.8T engine from a B6 or B7 Audi A4 into a B5 Audi A4 is possible, but it's not a straightforward plug-and-play process. Considerations include differences in wiring harnesses, ECU compatibility, and potential modifications to accommodate the Quattro system. Ensure the donor car matches your Quattro drivetrain, and consult forums or experts for guidance on wiring and ECU adjustments. A successful swap involves meticulous planning, mechanical skills, and may require additional components. Be prepared for challenges, and thoroughly research the specific details of your model variants for a smoother engine replacement process.
