I have a 96 Audi a4 2.8 with no spark. The car sat for 4 months and then just wouldn't start. The battery was dead and we tried to jump it but no go, the engine turns and we are getting fuel and injector pulse but no spark. I have replaced the ECU, ignition module, coil, engine speed sensor, crank and cam sensors. Also tested the ignition switch. I believe it may be a relay? Can anyone tell me if any relay can make my car not have spark? My car has a 5 speed manual and the engine still cranks without the clutch held down, i think you should have to push it down before it cranks, maybe that's the switch i need to replace. I am not sure if the switch went out if it would affect spark? No codes at all are showing up. If anyone has the ignition wiring diagram and can email it to me that would be super and the relay a panel diagram.

try trouble shooting the clutch safety switch.. it should not turn over without the clutch engaged.. its like a neutral safety switch. put an automatic in n an try to start it.. it shouldnt.. what about the timing belt!

 

I bypassed the switch and still no spark, also i don't think the timing is off because the engine sounds right and I am not throwing any codes with my VAG-COM. Won't it throw some kind of code if i was off timing?

If anyone has the relay and ignition wiring diagram and can send it to steved@gmail.com i would really appreciate it. I have been trying to barrow a Bentley manual but no luck so if someone has one and can scan the pages and email me that would be awesome!!

 

these motors are interference motors.. if timing was off u prob would be benting valves.. i believe if it was off it would throw a code.. but what if there isnt a belt at all

 

I have just about replaced everything that you have as well and still wont start. Did you find out what it was?
