Default Battery Holddown in a B6

How the hell do I get it out? Looks like an allen heah but the space is too narrow to get the socket into. Is there a special tool for this? My car is dead.

Tyr using an extension on your socket wrench, almost all battery hold downs need one.

No way you can get in the side?

Yeah just got my battery changed a few months ago and yes it's to small for your hand to fit down there, u need a special tool or extension. Contact your local battery place and query them.

Some skill, a prybar and praying I was able to barely squeeze the socket between the Strut Bar and car. Took a while and I did not replace the hold down. I did it Git 'R' Done style and used a bungee cord this time. You can't see it with the cover anyway.

Using a quarter inch extension will give you better access than a 3/8 extension. You can also use a ball type hex. Just be carefull not to strip the bolt, as ball types tend to do that if held at to great an angle.
