box in trunk with cd changer...is it powered?
i want to know if the box that is mounted in my trunk with the stock bose/6 disc changer system is powered. I want to hook a powered subwoofer up...and instead of running a line all the way to my battery...im wondering if i can tap into that box for power?
here's a pic of the box if you guys dont know what im talking about

the cd changer recieves power but it is not sufficient enough that you can run an amp of off, you'll blow the fuse and/or melt the wire. you need to either run a wire from the battery or use the existing terminals located under the dash. most people, unless running really serious amplifiers use those terminals, they are very easy to get to, they are located under the fuse box, to get to them you must drop the underside of the driverside dash and you will see like 5 terminals, i think the first one on the left is the one to use, it has the thickest wire going to it and then just remove the door sills and run the cable from there, there is also enough room on the left side of the footrest to leave a fuse - remember it should be no longer than one foot from the terminal.
