Brake - Headlight Problem

Brake - Headlight Problem
I wonder if any body can help me with this problem I have with my 1999 A4 AVANT 2.4 Automatic
The other day the warning light came on along with a chime telling me a brake light was faulty the warning would switch off when I came to a stop but come back on when I released the brake to start moving again.
When I got home I checked this, and found that all break lights were ok but!!! when the brake was depressed the front nearside headlight would come on.
In itself this is not to much of a problem but the chime every time I hit the break is really getting on my nerves
The only clue I can give is that I did have to change a Brake Light about a month ago.
Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

Id have to see a wiring diagram to be sure but i think your brake light cicuit may be backfeeding to the headlight circuit. Either thru the bulb or wiring somewhere. You may want to try pulling the brake light bulbs out to see if the headlight issue goes away with it out.
