Default Breaks constantly chirping HELP!!!

So I have had my b5 2.8 a4 for about a year and a half now and ever since I got it the breaks have constantly "chirped" and squeaked 99% of the time when I apply the breaks only.. Although it does do it when I and not using them either sometimes louder than others. I have had it looked at by a mechanic on more than one occasion and he said they are mechanically sound and are nearly new. So my question is what could be making the noise and how can I make it stop. It is the most irritating thing in the world and seems to be getting worse. Any input is very much appreciated.-Brian

Sometimes the vibration between the brake pads and the caliper will causea squeak. That happened on another of my cars and all I did to fix it was to remove the pads and apply some anti-squeal paste on the back where they contact the caliper. Then just put them back in. Worked like a charm. It's a pretty common issue (not necessarily with Audi) with the design of disc brakes. It's a cheap fix if you don't count your time expenditure.

The brake anti-squeal paste is available at auto parts stores and it's only a couple of bucks.

Good luck.
