Can you reset CEL by unplugging battery?
Hey all,
I have seen some conflicting reports on here about resetting your CEL. Can this be done by disconnecting the negative side of your battery?
The thing that pisses me off, is that if you fix the problem, you still need to get your CEL cleared. It really makes you take it to a dealer or repair shop.

Unplugging?
I don't think that I would disconnect the battery and hope that the CEL goes away. Find someone with a VAGCOM to reset it for you. vagtoolfinder.com. Or post up where you are, maybe there is someone on here that is close to you and willing to help.
