I have a 2005 b6 A4 Quattro 1.8T. The catalytic converter is bolted right to the back of the stock turbo and then the downpipe begins after that. I have been told that a full aftermarket exhaust with an aftermarket catalytic converter included is much better than just a cat-back exhaust. Is this true? I have been searching all over the internet for a turbo back exhaust system for my car but all i can find is cat-back. Can anyone help?

 

My mechanic told me that there is a crack in my downpipe, and they recommended replacing with a cat-back exhaust. I will ask tomorrow when I see them and see what they have to say.
