I was turning around and when I cranked the weal and applied the gas it felt like it went into neutral! then there I was Stuck towed it home and I played around with it I noticed when its in drive. I can hear something turning but no movement, it may be a drive shaft but it is all weal drive so it would have to be both that broke Right? or is it something that maybe built in the tranny. it is christmas season and I am stuck! please help

tip auto tranny, 2000 A6 2.8 avant quattro i am going to jack it up and take a look today

 

so I jacked up the car and had some one put into reverse and the drive lines all look good but some thing is turning in the tranny area but seems striped out or something, like the tranny is good but the gears are not engaging all the way, does anybody have any ideas? thanks 2000 audi a6 2.8 avant quattro
