Default Cat Rattles and Power Loss, How do I fix?

My mechanic has said the inside of my cats are breaking up and causing a loud rattle and power loss in my 02 a4 quattro. Should I try to get AUDI to fix under the 80k warranty? Or is there a more beneficial upgrade that is affordable I could go with?

I'll appreciate any suggestions and explanations out there.

Do you want it done for free, or do you want to pay for it? That's the question.
Free= Dealer Warenty
Cost= Aftermarket High flow.

Take it to the dealer get it done for free. Then come home and put on an aftermarket performace one. That way you still have a good cat and it should be cake because the dealer already broke lose the pain exhaust bolts.

this should be a poll, but since its not get it done under warrenty, its just better since its actually audi part done by audi mechanics. once the warrentys expired and you dont care about voiding it and the cat(s) go again then get an aftermarket HF cat and just have a local shop weld it on.

There is a consensus here. Take it to the dealer.
