Catalyst no ready for SMOG - 3rd Time!
Hello - new to the forum, thank you in advance for your help!!!
2002 Audi A6 3.0 has had bad catalytic converters for years. Previously when I cleared the codes, drove 100 miles, it passed smog. Car not worth replacing them.
This time, I cleared codes, drove 500 miles (3 times), still isn't passing. Saying Catalyst not ready.
I have the VAG connector/software and a regular VW fault code reader to erase codes. So, if I can look for something specific, please let me know.
I need to get this dang car to pass smog.
Any advice to get the Cats 'ready' just to pass?
How can I tell if it's ready?
I'm new to 'rigging' the car to pass smog - and I'm desperate to get it done.
Also, if someone knows of a reputable person who can work on this vehicle in the Los Angeles/San Diego area, please let me know. I've been taken advantaged of so many times by local repair shops. Can't trust em'!
So many issues with the car - but love it and want to keep it. Now if I can also just replace the driver's side floor mat, that would be great too, lol! Smog first though - will get a ticket (been there done that too).
