New to car work and new to being involved with personally maintaining my vehicle. I just had some alternator work done on my 2001 A4 2.8L 5 speed and I was worried that the check engine light came on for a short time after the work was done. It's off now but I was wondering if that is something normal or should I be concerned.

Cliff Notes: alternator work done; check engine light on for short time but is now off; is this normal?

 

It depends on why the light came on. Have it scanned and post the code(s) you get.
