Coolant Leak '00 A4 1.8t Quattro Avant
4 Attachment(s)
So the mechanic says its the coolant inlet manifold.
I wanted to get a second opinion from someone that knows their way around an Audi. I thought it was the rear coolant flange until he pointed out the crack in the tubeing/piping. Let me know if you want different angle pictures. Any help would be much appreciated, just need part name so I can repair. Please & Thank You in advance. |
Heres a video of it leaking.
Have not been driven yet that day. Cold, & unpressurized and leaking like that |
Can't see the video. Says it's "private"..

Should be good now.
Don't think it really shows leak location; Just the leak dribble from being unpressurized. Or do you think it might be a coolant flange? |
Kind of hard to tell with it buried down in there. Looks like a little disassembly is in order to tell for sure. The drip is pretty fast.

Heres more pictures and got closer with the camera in the video.
Looks like it might be a manifold, but the crack is near the flange I believe. |
Ain't but one way to tell for sure. Gotta take it apart. The cracked part looks to be the quick connect end of the hose that connects to the flange assembly. Removing it shouldn't be too bad if you can get some items disconnected and out of the way. A new flange assembly looks like it's only costing about $30. Not sure about the quick connect hose. But, like I say, there's really no way to tell for sure until you get those items out so you can inspect them without having to be 2" inches tall. LOL
