Coolant Message in Display Upon Startup
Good Morning Everyone:
I’ve recently encountered a error message in my display on my 1.8T 2003 Audi A4. Upon start up approximately 20% of the time, I receive a beep sound and the Coolant message flashes. This will momentarily stay anywhere from 1-5 minutes, but it always goes away. My heat works fine (as far as I can tell) and my temp gauge acts normal as it gradually climbs to the 12:00 position and then stays. As a small side note, this issue doesn’t appear to be weather-related. There have been days in the past couple weeks that the temp was about 10, while I just got the message this morning and the temp was 45. Anyone have any input on what the issue is here? |
Have you checked the coolant level when it beeps at you and compared it to when the car doesn't beep? Could be low coolant, air in the system, a bad level sender, etc.

That was it man - it was just a little low. Low enough to where when it was really cold, it through the code temporarily before the car had a chance to warm up.
Thanks for the tip! |
