Ten years ago, I boughta 1998 A4 2.8Q with Tiptronic and have put 155,000 miles on it -- runsgreat, I love it.

About a year ago, I started having intermittent problems with my cruise control: sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. Sometimes it would be engaged and would disengage itself (sometimes when the car hit a bump on the road). Now, it hardly ever works (though it still very rarely does). The few times it does work, seems to work only if the ambient temperature is warm, and then only if the car is fully warmed up too. My local mechanic was pretty clueless on this one. Any ideas?

 

could be a break peddle switch fault or the cable is loose also kick down cable is slack

 

Mine does the smae when I hit bumps.
