I have a 97 a6, when lights are turned off the temp control and odometer lights work but when I turn my lights on they shut off and none of the dashlights work either, any suggestions???

 

Long story short... You can remove the entire instrument panel and replace the bulbs that light up your guages. These bulbs are not supposed to be replaceable... Audi wants you to have to buy some VERY expensive parts just to fix your problem, but it's not necessary if you have some patience and a few basic tools. You can actually get the replacement bulbs from radio shack. I will say this though... It is common knowledge among the audi mechanics that when you go into the panel to fix some of the bulbs, a lot of the time some of the bulbs that were working before will not work once you get everything back together again. I don't know why this happens, but it happend to me and I've heard it's common. Hope that helps.
